My Friday had its bumps, but by the end of the day, as I thought everything was winding down, a hiccup caught me off guard. Instead of staying in my present wind down phase, I allowed myself to be drawn into the hiccup.
I totally fell into the chaos hook, line, bobber, sinker and even allowing the disruption to pull my reel and fishing pole into the negative energy that entered my home.
Needless to say, it was not one of my finer moments.
The rest of the evening, I kept chastising myself for not being better prepared to handle the disruption. I kepted looking back on my day, remembering I missed my reconnection with our Lord at my 3pm hour of prayer, and thinking my Morning Prayers were not completed that opened the door to to let the evil one in my heart and home.
Shaking off the negativity of my thoughts, I began to ask forgiveness and was reminded, I am human, though made in His Image and likeness, I am human, and with a humble and contrite heart I am forgivable.
So I wrapped all my negative emotions up, and unceremoniously placed them, yet again, at the Foot of the Cross of our Lord and Savior ✝️ .
Today, Saturday afternoon, I moved to make a mense with my Lord by getting myself to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and after gently apologized to my eldest son, before I dared step foot in Church to receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.
One thing about our Faith is the forgiveness we receive from our Lord through the Sacrament of Revonciliation is truly powerful, if we truly contrite and honestly are looking for help to work on turning from sin. One can honestly feel their soul being cleansed to the point of feeling one’s spirit rise up out of the dung heap, we chose to fall into. It is a very humbling experience. Feeling the weight of one’s soul be lighted of one’s shoulders is so freeing.
We call it being in the State of Grace and in that state we know we are prepared to receive Him.
Our soul is pristine to partake in receiving the Glorified Body of Christ within our humble body, so He can nourish our body, quench our thrist and refresh our soul.
His earthly Presence is a gift that heals us from the inside out and sets us on the straight and narrow path back to Heaven.
The humbling part is staying in that state of Grace, long enough for the one’s we have offended to accept our apology as quickly as our Lord did. 😉
After attending Mass my home has been calm and peaceful.
Later in the evening I came across an Irish priest with the most heavenly voice singing a poetically prayerful evening pray called,”Bless this House Hymn” tears began streaming down my face for each verse was so beautiful and brought so much peace in my heart and into my home. The hymn was an answer to my prayers for I saw it as being a way to help me bring Peace back into my home each and every evening moving foreward.
This hymn brought my heart so much peace and joy to my very soul that I moved to learn it, use it and was inspired to share it with others.
May this hymn bring you comfort whereever you are.
