Day Light Savings Time

When I was young, I thought daylight savings gave us more time to play outside with my friends in the neighborhood.

When we began our family, I looked at daylight savings time as a way for me to get more house chores done in between nursing babies, piles of laundry, baseball games, choir rehearsals, and birthday parties.

Now that I am older, when daylight savings time rolled around, I find myself unable to make the change with the same ease and enthusiasm.

Two weeks went by before I realized the switch had occurred, giving me a false sense pthat I made it through. I changed the dates on my analog and digital clocks, feeling positive, as it seemed, I was not having too much difficulty.

I realized the nights still seemed to be getting dark around the same time due to the geo-engineered rain clouds, and I thought I was moving through the switch to longer days pretty well.

Little did I realize, I was puttering around cleaning until the sun started to rise in the east. Something that truly snuck up on me.

Now it has been two full weeks, and I look like this:
