Call to Serve Right Where We Stand!

Have you ever had a thought pop in your head of a person in your life you have not seen in a while?

Perhaps, its a person you had a premonition or two that they needed to be prayed for that very instant. Maybe they are people you may know who might be lonely or grieving or just an old friend or relative you haven’t spoken to in a while.

Do not ignore these moments?

These are the moments our Good Lord is asking for our help. He is answering the prayers of those in need, and requesting our help here on earth to be His Hands and His feet.

God is asking us to interceed and pray for and in some way reach out to another.

During these times, we, as His handmaids and servants, are being called because we have Faith, perhaps only a mustard seed of Faith, but we have Faith and a heart open to hearing Holy Spirit’s Call to serve another in need.

We are being called because in that moment, we have the perfect gift/s  the Lord needs us to share.

Pray for discernment and a willing heart to serve.

If we know the person/friend, we may be moved to pray and perhaps reach out to them.

By our responding to this Call to Serve, we may or may not ever know why we were called to pray, but we will be left with a sense of calmness and Peace.

The battle we have in our minds of ‘should we or shouldn’t we’ is the evil one stirring up chaos and doubt.

The Lord calls us into service in many ways throughout our day and many times at night and even the wee hours of the morning because those times are when we are most vulnerable.

In this world of technology, we have the ability to reach out in seconds to another, and many times, it is all another person may need, other times, they may need a real connection.

It may only takes a one sentence text, a quick email, a whimsical little card, a phone call or impromtu visit to let another know you care and are praying for them to let them know they are not alone in this world.

Do not be afraid or second guess yourself when the thought to reach out to someone in your life is placed in the forefront of your To-Do List.

I have no doubt these moments are indeed the Lord asking us to be His Ears and His Heart to help comfort the lonely and grieving.

We must be open to hearing the call and responding.

We must reach out to help support another inch forward on their journey.

In my experience, I have yet to regret it when I heeded the Call to Serve.

Awakening from the heavy weight of being separated from two of children, later my father, then shortly after my husband, and a few yrs later my MomI can honestly share, it takes as long as it takes.

Grief comes and goes, and by the God’s Grace and Faith in Him, I can attest, does leave one with the ability to remember it all.

To remember; the trails and tribulations and the amazing unconditional, unbounding love only through the Mercy of God and our willingness to journey on with all the blessings and burdens we are given.

He alone, allows us moments the veil is lifted, to fell that love,  remember that love and to know we were and are still loved beyond bounds, and not even death can destroy that Love. This is where we can gather our experiences and move to continue to respond to being called into service when needed.

Love lives in a place where nothing here on earth or in hell can destroy it.

Our very soul is surrounded by this love freely given and freely received.

It permeates into our children, their spouses, our grandchildren and our extended family and friends, who we shared with the ones that are no longer here on earth.

Though we do not know how long we are here, we do know we are chosen to be here in this time and space for a reason.

We have been give all we need to answer the Call to Serve right where we stand.
