One Sacrament that I have grown to become more and more grateful for is my infant Baptism.
How young my parents were at 19 and 20, but they believed in God, and believed the importance of having all their children sealed my God for our protection throughout all our life.
No matter where we went, or how far we might have ventured to try and move from our faith, their Trust in God grew stronger, and their prayer more diligent for their new with all their hearts the indelible mark of Christ could never be erased, we were Hod’s Children, and that mark was imprinted of our very souls. It could not be erased, even if for a time we fell away in search of our own conversion to Christ. We were still children of God.
Day in and day out my parents showed my siblings and myself by example, how to get to know, love and serve Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Through hurdles after hurdle, our family was carried through to see another day.
Life is not easy, nor was it intended to be so, but today, I am thankful that we are called to remember and together recite our Baptismal vows just our parents and Godparents, recited for many of us so long ago.
Heavenly Blessings to my parents and Godmother who went before me, and prayers for my Godfather still walking this earth.
