I have always enjoyed this time of year with all the colorful lights and the menagerie of different Nativity Scenes set up in front of homes. The crisp chill in the air and even the valley fog was a means to gather the family around the the fire with Hot Chocolate, whipped cream or marshmellows and homemade popcorn so we could cuddle up and watch a Christmas movie and course an occasional Hallmark movie that would bring a bit of laughter, a tearing even a Oh no from the boys in our family.
It also is a very special time when my life was forever changed, when a dear high-school friend of mine and my Mom got together and planned for me to put down my child psychology book long enough to go out and meet some new people. Of which, I was introduced to my belated husband. What a blessing! What a gift to have been blessed with the love of my life, during the most wonderful time of the year.
Just four days after celebrating our Lord’s Birth, Jesus answered my life long prayer for placing my loving husband into my life. Thst would prove to be a devoted father our six children could have ever hoped to call Dad.
Through God’s Love and Mercy, He has continued to spare me from grieving during this time, and allowed me to enjoy each and every Advent and Christmas Season since.
What an Awesome God we serve!
In this moment, I will sing His Praise for He is our God, and I am His handmaid for with Him, I am never alone.
