This past Advent I have been working on taking extra moments in my day to really pray my rosary more slowly and really take time especially with the Joyful mysteries.
1. Th Annunciation, when the Angel Gabriel came to ask Mary to be the Mother of God.
2. Mary’s Visitation to her cousin Elizabeth as she was carrying John the Baptist.
3. The Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ
4. The Presentation of Jesus
5. The Finding Jesus in the Temple.
Though I have prayed many rosaries over the years, this year I felt a need to take a breath and dive deeper into taking note of what our beloved Mother Mary and her husband were going through as they were trying to make sense of all that was asked of them.
Nothing was traditional about being called to be the Mother of God through the Holy Spirit, nor being betrothed and finding out you are being asked to be the protector of the Mother of God and foster father to the Son of God.
What Faith the precious Mother of God, created as a pure vessel for God to place His One and Only Son within. What humble courage and strength was bestowed on St Joseph to be the guardian of them both, here on earth.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph were and still to this day are the Holy Family, who were not without trials of this earthly life, but who never swayed from God’s call to be apart of saying “Yes to God, and Trusting in His Word.
