Home-coming

Being from a family raised around family with parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and a plethora of cousins close by, we were taught to lend a helping hand to our elders and by a support to new families raising their babies.

When I married, my husband being a clone of my beloved father in heart, mind and soul, embraced my large,  loud, loving family.  My husband and my Day  became business partners and each other’s best friend.

Being the oldest and my siblings all living out of town, it was a blessing my parents, my husband, and I loved spending time together with my parents and our ever growing family.

As my parents grew older, my husband and organically  promised, we would always be around for my parents, as they had been present for us, especially as we grew our family.

It was an honor to be able to have such a beautiful give and take relationship with no measure of who had done more or less for the other. Just as my parents and their parents had done for their parents, etc.

This demonstration of our relationship was indeed a group effort and helped me when Dad, then my husband and then Mom passed away.

My four children, along with the two older ones precious spouses, rallied around one another to help us all continue our journey forward, working out and cultivated this giving and taking relationship of fostering and supporting of old and new families.

This week, my youngest son and his wife came back home for a short visit from their new home in Tennessee.

I can dare say their move a few years ago was what they needed, but I was so grateful the Lord saw fit to encourage my older children and their families to be close by. Being honest, I know I may not have been able to handle their departure so graciously otherwise.

God is indeed ever-present, and by His Mercy, He proved to me yet again. He does prepare us throughout our life with the tools we will need, when we are called to use them.

To be given this gift of reuniting, when financially times are being stretched like a tight-rope, I find myself praising the Lord with very grateful heart for this Home-coming.

God is Good!

He is real!

He is present 24/7!
