The Merciful Gift of Prayer.

Many of us take for granted the power of prayer.

Prayer is an instrument given to us by God.

As God’s Creation, we are encouraged by the Father to kneel before Him and share all our burdens, fears, sorrows, joys, gratitudes, requests, needs, and offerings of reparation for our sins and those of anothers.

What a way to keep His Creation connected to Him and a way to reach out to others thru Him.

He created this perfect communication called PRAYER for us to cultivate a relationship with Him and keep us connected to all, His Followers, so we can be apart of the prayer process.

Prayer deepens our connection with Christ, which in turn, opens the window of our souls to not only pray for our own needs, but also to be aware of the need to pray for others, who have fallen away.

When young, I thought we prayed God listened, and gave us a;

“Yes, No, maybe later, or not on your life!” answer.

If God answered a resounding ‘Yes!” God miraculously raised His Hands and (POOF!) what was asked for miraculously appeared or the burden/s taken away in a flash of lightening.

As an adolescent, I prayed, and I think I trusted God was listening and felt He would do what was best and move on with my day.

Though I acknowledged He existed, asked for help, I had no comprehension of what power began when I knelt down placed my hands together, fingertips pointing to Heaven. I prayed, asked for help or whatever and said “Amen!” I did not give my prayer another thought, nor did I stop and Thank God, if my prayers were answered in the way I prayed they would.

Later on, I became aware my prayer was like a seed just freshly planted.

It was the beginning of the something that was only between God and myself.

My youthful image of God was He sitting in an enormous hall filled, floor to ceiling with file cabinets, where He filed each prayer away, after hanging up His phone receiver. I believed He would sit back in a huge fluffy white cloud chair, behind a huge mahogany desk, pondering if and when He might make a decision on each prayer. I envisioned many desk phones sitting in a semi-circle, silently blinking with different levels of bright light waiting to be answered. The brightness guide beginning from low to high described to importance. The chart was titled, “The Angelic Brightness Scale Chart”, and it was pasted on His office wall to the right side of his desk.

I know, I have a very have a vivid imagination.

As I grew and became a wife and Mother, I came to realize, God is working 24/7. The prayer process was not just God and myself. It seems to be more of a prayer process. Many times God was waiting for another to answer the call to be apart of this prayer process. He wants us to participate. He desires us to be apart of this process. Does He need us to be, “No!”, but it seems we are designed to open up to our life’s journey that leads us back to God in Heaven.

When we enter into the Body of Christ, we become His Handmaids and Servants. Whether we, believe it or not, we are not where we are at this moment in time by a mere accident or by a cosmic alignment of a celestial cluster of firey spheres in space.

We are strategically placed all over the world for His Greater Purpose. What a network; if we, says,, ” Yes!” to being apart of this Glorious Body of Christ. Oh what a wonderful world this could be.

But as “free will” is given, and most of us, me included may think it throws a huge monkey wrench into this process, we need to be aware why free will is given.

Our Father in Heaven wants to be loved just as we desire to be loved with no strings attached.

This is why we must heed the call to pray for the conversion of sinners, especially the lukewarm and those who turned away from Him completely. He desires our cooperation in the prayer process.

In this space of earthly time, we need to pray for conversion. We need people, all over the world, turning away from sin, and opening themselves up to praying and entering into a head over heals loving relationship with God. We need many to enter or reenter to the prayer process.

We are being challenged to help as many as we can to become consumed by the Light of Christ, and become part of the prayer process. We, all, need to be open to serving those in need, through prayer first and then by action.

We are His Hands, Feet, Arms, Ears. We may start the praying process, but He calls on all others open to His Call to help fulfill the prayer.

The Power of Prayer and praying for ourselves and others is a Merciful Gift from Our Lord.

I challenge you, who chose to get this far to use your gift of prayerful communication with the Lord to the fullest.

Won’t you be apart of entering into the process of prayer?

“A prayer from a friend is a never-ending, forever gift that matches no other.”
