Lend Your Ear!

My daughter came over yesterday afternoon to vent and decompress. Her young daughters were getting over their head colds, and, as we all do, when we begin to heal, we have shorter fuses and start snipping at those in our space.

I surmise because we are done being sick, and though we try to start doing things, we still get tired, and then are more irritable. The overwhelming feeling of I got alot I want or need to do, starts nagging at us, and we snip and bark at our loved ones.

In my daughter’s case, her daughters needed to clean “their” room “together.” LOL!

As I listened to my daughter purge, I was aware of how my mind was gathering her frustrations and lifting each one up to God for her.

This was something my Mom taught me to do. She would remind me, when you are called to lend an ear to another to remember to lift their burdens up for they were stuck. She further explained it not only relieved them enough to remember to do so themselves, it also released you from carrying their burdens on yourself.

Yesterday, I was not only reminded I had continued to practice this intercessory prayer, was also shone how the process worked in real time.

My soul seemed to step away from the conversation. I was still present physically, but soul seemed to step back and watch as I listened to my daughter pour out of her frustrations.

I watched as her words were being poured into my cupping hands at the center of my heart in my heart, as she finished sharing, I could see the hands within my heart firmly close in on the shared frustrations, and my heart seemed to take flight and ascend up releasing just as these massive all consuming hands, gatherered by heart like a hug. Within that embrace my heart felt instantly lighter, and welled up with such an immense feeling of Love.

As my heart came to be one with my soul, I looked up to see His Hands ascending back through the clouds, all the frustrating in them evaporated.

When I stepped back into the present, my precious daughter was thanking me for listening and gave me a hug.

She looked lighter, happier even, and soon, let me know with an additional hug, she was so grateful to be able to purge and needed to get back to her family. She is such a good, loving wife and Momma.

So very grateful for this moment,, and for my precious Mom and her willingness to share how she ministered and assisted others in their need to have an ear.

Blessings and Prayers for us all to continue to be present to those you God places in our paths.

Lift up your burdens up to the Lord, and be open to aiding others, when they come to ask you to lend your ear.
