When I first heard this song on the by Robert Appere & Neil Sedaka on the radio in the Fall of September of 1976,

I was just coming into my own at 15 and beginning to like who I was and looking forward to my second year of High School.

 I fell in love with the song the instant I heard the first four 4) measures and couldn’t wait for the weekend to come around, so I could go to the Wherehouse Record Store to pick up my copy of the song on a 45 record and learn the lyrics.

I was so excited to get home and listen to the purchased 45 published from The Rocket Record Company/ MCA. I had the lyrics down pat in just ten (10) minutes to the chagrin of my sister in the room next to me for I was feeling this song and every lyrics to the depths of my soul, literally singing it at the top of my lungs. But I didn’t care in the least for I had a lock on my door, I was so happy, and empowered by every word.
