So many emotions packed in a neat little box
Kept safe and secure
In the recesses of my heart.
As this time rolls around
Wonderful transformations remembered
From summer to fall
The changing of colors
From Weather to time
And even beyond in space
Experiences with loved ones
Who have gone on.
Lots of memories shared
Come tumbling forth
Like a series of episodes
From not so long ago
Precious moments
In our lives
Etched in the recesses
Of my reminicing mind
The love and the laughter
Oh the fond memories
Of DeBondt Adventures
Passionate Arguments
Forgiveness abound
Mountains to mole hills
Challenges met with
Our Lord’s Loving help
All overcome
Just before
The sun went down
Keeping our promises to
Never to fall asleep cross
Forever remain Faithful
A Trust never lost.
We did work hard
To make very sure
Our love remained
Forever and true.
Glimpses of moments
Come flooding my heart
Of you coming up from behind
Warm strong arms wrapped around me
Gently pulling me close
I can still hear your whisper
“Thank you for our family
and loving me, Dear.”
When the world seemed to threaten
To tear itself a lpart
Our Love for Our God never failed.
On we would walked
Picking up one another
Brushing ourselves off
Rejoining hand in hand
To continue our journey
For as long as we had.
The memories of nurturing and caring
for our creative brood
Through sickness and health
And several close calls
We gathered our children on earth.
Even lifting two tiny souls back to our Lord.
We’d all march on
Out of line or in sync
We still found time to grow in love.
Learning to laugh alot at our mistakes
We did live and love the all our days through.
In spite of the chaos and fire all around
We comforted the other
Until that very last day
Your life was completed
The previous moment you were called Home.
I ponder and wade
Through the experiences of our past
Grateful beyond measure
For making it so far.
By the seat of our pants
And a wing and a prayer
We did made it through
Me and You.
We loved and we sang
Gave praise to our God.
I ask the Lord blessings on you and I at the moment in time.
Bless our children
Their children and so on.
Especially now we are not together.
I humble ask Him
To watch over us Dear
And provide us a bit more direction.
Gratitude for all we were given
Especially to have you at my side
And our family grown
From our beautiful
Passionate love.

Standing tall
We many times muddled through
With bumps, bruises
And mental scars to prove it. My gratitude seems to grow not diminish.
So now,
When the days yet again become cooler
And the leaves turn radiant colors
I open my little box
With memories abound
To gather more strength and courage
To remember our past
And my dark handsome knight
O the Love of my life is a beautiful treasure.
The tears that are falling
At this moment in time
Are full of my thanks, love, and gratitude.
They are an out-pouring
A collection of Love
Through the year
All love I had stored up from within me.
Gathered up during the year
Waiting for this moment once again
Take out my little treasure box
That hold our beautiful memories
I carefully pen it up
Take a few breaths
And dive the past
To give thanks for our precious memories.

Like autumn-colored leaves
