TREMBLE

The first weekend back in eighteen (18) months, ministering music with the SFC A Little Joyful Noise (ALJN) Ensemble shouldn’t have been surprising the evil one threw everything he could think of to block our path back to leading our parish family in song.

From fear and fire to forgotten equipment and sore throats to new sound engineers backing out, to being hit between the eyes by a Church Leader demanding a letter be read to all after we just received our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

With thirty (30) plus years of music ministry under my belt, I should have remembered to prepare for these hurdles, but this last year and a half has been anything but normal, but I am so very grateful my dear adopted brother and Spiritual Director prepared me by saying remember whatever happens, trust the Holy Spirit will let you know what you need to do.

Despite shaken musicians and vocalists, and the congregation’s wide array of reactions and responses to the shocking information read from the divisive letter, those who remained sitting in shock needed to be comforted and reassured.

Faith trumps all! So with tear stained faces, and all the strength we could muster, we sang with revere and conviction, Alleluia, Raise the Gospel praying for, all, we were worth that all who dared to allow such an intrusion on our service be held accountable and for all who were so emotionally damaged by the letter that they would find the strength to make it known, no impedance of our Masses will ever be tolerated with such worldly matters again.

There is a time and place for everything, but no one must ever use the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass to air their grievances. Save it for outside the doors of the Church.

Let the ones who create chaos, tremble at the knowledge the Church will not stand for this disturbance ever again.
