I was meditating on the lyrics of the song ” All are Welcome” a wonderful Catholic Composer/ Singer and Song writer and Outstanding Praise and Worship Evangelist, written by Jesse and Jennah Manibusan.
The title alone says it all, “All Are Welcome.” Yet, Jesse and Jennah took it a step further ending the refrain with “All belong!” As read over the lyrics, anticipating how mindful and comforting these lyrics would be for our Congregation next week. In awe how much the invitation needs to be heard. Even though it was written in 2016, it was like they were written for thins point in time. ” All are welcome! All Belong!
As I just sang those two lines, my mind went back to the birth of each person on this planet, then I thought about how each one of us no matter where we were born, I pray were welcomed into this world with open arms, knowing they belonged here. Though I understand that is not the case for everyone, I feel this power that is not my own, to be open to being an instrument through by which another is touched the Grace of God to know this is a personal invitation to know they are welcome, they are needed, and wanted in this world, their life matters and they belong. Nothing in this world matters more than life, and every life is a gift. Every life matter, and we need to be gentle with everyone and every living thing, but nothing matters more than human life. When we care for one another, we are aware of all God’s Creation, and we are moved to care for it all.
All Are Welcome! All Belong!
