HIGH ABOVE OUR WAY

I do not believe we grasp the gift that has been planted within our very souls. I mean how can we as there is a presence in the world that consistently is geared to instill self-doubt in ourselves, from how we look, dress, walk, talk, where we live, who we associate with, what we do or don’t do.

Our God-given gifts are always in question, and we are propped even encouraged to compare and critic others, instead of being grateful and appreciating the commonalities, we share with another.

Going through the music in our Church music books this past few weeks, looking for music that not only ties into the message from the readings of the day, but also working to find lyrics that match up what what we the Church are dealing with in the world, so the message may be a healing balm to carry them through the week ahead.

Steve Angrisano & Curtis Stephan’s “High Above Our Way” struck a cord with me, actually several cords. (PUN INTENDED!) It hit, both, the readings and the needs of our parish family. It is a song about discipleship Published by Spirit & Song, a division of OCP.

I chose Chris Brunelle’s cover of the song, and I was moved to use Mr. Brunelle’s rendition to cover this song, on my Facebook & Instagram. There are so many hearts hurting and not know where to turn, and am only sharing for the ones, who would have no means by which to hear the message. I own no writes to this song, just sharing it to bring a message of hope to the hurting.
